North Carolina Psychoanalytic Society was chartered in 1977 and provides programs of clinical and scientific interest to psychoanalysts, psychoanalytic psychotherapists, and others interested in psychoanalytic theory and practice. The Psychoanalytic Education Center of the Carolinas is a division of the Society, and matriculated students are required to maintain membership in the Society. North Carolina Psychoanalytic Foundation is a charitable organization promoting mental health through psychoanalytic education and therapy. NCPF programs are designed to advance psychoanalysis in the community by focusing attention on important mental health issues and demonstrating the power and efficacy of psychoanalytic ideas, and the NCPF website maintains a calendar of psychoanalytic events. Membership is open to all who share an interest in psychoanalytic perspectives and wish to support psychoanalytic education and practice in North Carolina. The Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood in Cary, NC is the largest nonprofit provider of mental health services to young children (up to age 11) and their families in the Triangle. More than 500 children participated in the Center's four program's in the most recent year: 1) an early intervention therapeutic preschool and kindergarten for children with identified social and emotional challenges, 2) a preschool for more typically developing children, 3) a mental health clinic offering comprehensive evaluations, counseling, and other psychological and medical services for children up to age 11, and 4) in-home therapy for children (up to age 5) from low income families. American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA), the oldest psychoanalytic organization in the nation, was founded in 1911. APsaA publishes the quarterly journal, Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association (JAPA).

American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work (formerly NMCOP - National Membership Committee on Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work) is an organization for clinical social workers engaged in psychoanalytically informed practice.

Division of Psychoanalysis (Division 39) of the American Psychological Association represents, within the broad field of psychology, professionals who identify themselves as having a major commitment to the study, practice, and development of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
